Police intervene with 21 people in a yola on the Aguadilla coast

AGUADILLA – The Maritime Police Unit in Aguadilla intervened at around 9:40 on Sunday night with the 21 occupants of a yola that was about three nautical miles from the coast.

In the boat of approximately 28 feet in length, with a Suzuki engine of 40 horsepower, blue and white, were traveling 20 men and 1 woman of undefined immigration status, who were trying to arrive on the island.

Previously, it was reported that the intervention took place as part of a preventive maritime patrol, in which the police detected the yola.

Agents Rigoberto Sánchez and Héctor Pérez, under the supervision of Sergeant Geovanny González, handed over the 21 people to Costanera Guard personnel, who took charge of the investigation.
