Some 135,000 clients of the Electric Power Authority (PREPA) remain without service today after the passage of tropical storm Isaías in Puerto Rico.
“We have moment 135,000 subscribers without service, that represents 9% of our clients. We must be entering clients without service, so starting today when the boys start working we will be seeing how the lines will be replenished, ”said Fernando Padilla, director of the Office of Restructuring and Fiscal Affairs of PREPA at WKAQ 580.
“Over the course of the day, we expect the vast majority of this percent to be in service later today. But I anticipate that I think we are going to have some things that are going to be entering tomorrow. So our expectation is that no later than tomorrow these customers are already in service, “he added.
Meanwhile, the president of the Union of Electrical and Risk Industry Workers (Utier), Ángel Figueroa Jaramillo, reported that the Mayagüez area is where the most subscribers are without electricity.
