Prosecutor determines not to file complaints against detainee for alleged aggression against consensual partner


Guayanilla – A man arrested on Sunday for allegedly beating his consensual partner, who is pregnant, was released on instructions from the prosecutor who evaluated the evidence presented as part of the complaint, police reported.

The alleged incident of gender violence was reported to authorities on Saturday in Guayanilla, where a man identified by the Police as Jan L. Caraballo Soto, 22, was arrested.

According to a complaint, Caraballo Soto had assaulted his consensual partner, who was later transported to a hospital, since she is in a state of pregnancy.

The incident was investigated by the Domestic Violence Division and referred to the prosecutor on duty, who after evaluating the evidence presented determined not to file complaints against the arrested person, and was released.
