Puerto Rico adds 10 deaths from COVID-19 and 982 confirmed cases


The Department of Health reported today 10 deaths by COVID-19, 982 confirmed cases, 143 probable cases and 588 suspected cases additional.

The reported deaths were listed as confirmed and they are broken down below:

  • 72-year-old man from the Metro region
  • 65-year-old woman from the Bayamón region
  • 62-year-old man from the Arecibo region
  • 61-year-old man from the Arecibo region
  • 80-year-old woman from the Arecibo region
  • 71-year-old man from the Bayamón region
  • 73-year-old man from the Bayamón region
  • 87-year-old man from the Bayamón region
  • 89-year-old woman from the Arecibo region
  • 85-year-old woman from the Metro region

With these additional deaths, the confirmed deaths total 1,150 and the probable 241, so the total deaths is 1,391. The total confirmed deaths was adjusted by subtracting a death that was reassessed and it was identified that, although there was a variation in the name, it was a death that had been previously reported.

On the other hand, the total confirmed case results is 66,067, of which 35,584 are women and 30,483 are men. The reported cases are those that have a positive PCR test, with sampling date from December 6 to 20. The total was adjusted after adding 21 cases with sampling dates from August 24 to December 5.

The report includes the results of the antigen testing, which the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the United States classify as probable cases. He total positive results in these tests is 3,845, which was adjusted after subtracting 83 cases that subsequently had a positive molecular test and were added to the confirmed cases reported in this report. The additional probable cases reported are 143, which include samples taken from December 6 to 20. The distribution by gender is 2,135 women and 1,710 men.

As part of the report, 588 suspected cases additional, with sampling date from December 6 to 20. These cases, by definition, are those that have a positive serological test. In this row, the total is 50,791 after subtracting 115 cases that had a positive molecular test and nine cases that had a positive antigen test and were added to the confirmed and probable cases, respectively, registered as part of this report. On the other hand, four cases were added with sampling dates distributed between October 20, November 29 and 30. Suspected cases are divided into 28,481 women and 22,310 men.

He dashboard Health adds that due to coronavirus there is 535 people hospitalized and 57,458 convalescent.

In addition, it indicates that there are 93 adult patients in intensive care by COVID-19. It also mentions that 97 adults are connected to a fan due to the virus.
