Puerto Rico adds a death from coronavirus and the total rises to 154


The Department of Health today reported a death from coronavirus and recorded 25 confirmed infections and 53 additional probable cases.

In a press release, the agency indicated that the confirmed death corresponds to a 74-year-old man from the Ponce region . With this additional death, the total confirmed deaths is 60 and the probable deaths remain at 94, so the total deaths are 154 .

The results of the confirmed cases of COVID- 19 correspond to 887 women and 904 men. The total of confirmed cases was adjusted to 1,791 after eliminating a duplicate case with a sampling date of March 30. Confirmed cases are those who have a positive PCR (molecular) test.

On the other hand, an additional 53 probable cases were recorded. In this line, the total is 5,892 after being adjusted by subtracting a case that had a positive molecular test, dated June 29. In addition, a case reported as positive was subtracted, which the laboratory later reported as negative. Of the probable cases, 3,140 are women and 2,752 are men. Probable cases are those that test positive for a (rapid) serological test.
