Puerto Rico would be the sixth country to administer more COVID-19 vaccines per 100 residents


Puerto Rico occupies the sixth position among the 20 countries with the most vaccines against COVID-19 They have managed for every 100 residents.

According to the newspaper Financial times, the Puerto Rican archipelago (3.3) is only surpassed by the United States (3.7), United Kingdom (7.1), Bahrain (8.7), United Arab Emirates (21.1) and the table is led by Israel (29.8).

The first three positions are held by countries from the Middle East. The United States and Canada, which occupies position 14, would be the only ones in North America. Puerto Rico is the only representative of Latin America and the Caribbean. Meanwhile, all the other posts are from Europe.

The governor Pedro Pierluisi shared the news on his social networks and took the opportunity to congratulate the Health Department, to the designated secretary Carlos Mellado Lopez and the National Guard.

“We won’t rest until everyone gets vaccinated!”said the president.

For his part, Mellado López acknowledged that the challenges “are great”, but that “bigger” would be the work carried out by the vaccination team.

“Much remains to be done and we are going to achieve it. We are on the good way!”said the head of the country’s health agency.
