The mayor of the municipality of Ponce, Luis Irizarry Pabón, announced yesterday, Sunday, the reopening of the Parque de Bombas Museum to promote tourism.
“With great emotion and full of hope, we reopen the Parque de Bombas Museum every day of the week, one of our Ponceño symbols and the most photographed in Puerto Rico,” the mayor said in a post on Twitter.

He also urged that citizens visit the Museum so that they “learn from its history.”
Irizarry Pabón shared the information that the construction and design of the Park owes to the former mayor of Ponce Máximo Meana.
“The history of our City enriches and exalts us. Our Pump Park was built for the celebration of the Exhibition Fair of 1882 and converted in 1883 as the headquarters of the Volunteer Fire Department of Ponce”, published the Ponce mayor.
