Record number: 614 hospitalized for Covid-19 | government


The number of hospitalized for coronavirus (Covid-19) on the island reached a new record since the pandemic arrived in March: 614. This represents an increase of 41 in the past 24 hours.

The new peak occurs after more than two weeks with more than 500 hospitalized by the virus and at a time when cases continue to increase on the Island.

The total number of patients in an Intensive Care Unit with a ventilator has also been on the rise. Today 98 are in intensive, an increase of seven compared to yesterday’s figure. This same number is in the row connected to fan.

A pediatric patient is in intensive care. Additional details are unknown.

The country’s health system has 2,682 beds for adults, 185 intensive care beds and 720 ventilators. It also has 925 pediatric beds, 66 intensive care beds and 147 pediatric ventilators.

On the other hand, 72 of the 78 municipalities today have a positivity rate greater than 10%. Another five have a positivity of between 5 and 9.9%. Vieques is the only municipality with a positivity lower than 3%.
