Repair and maintenance work will affect this Sunday the service in sectors of Mayagüez and Añasco

SAN JUAN – The Electric Power Authority (PREPA), Mayagüez Region reported that due to work at the Alturas de Mayagüez Substations and the Mayagüez Transmission Center, the electricity service will be interrupted in sectors of said municipality and Añasco.

Engineer Javier Chaparro, regional administrator of technical operations for Mayagüez explained that these maintenance works will begin at 6:00 am on Sunday, April 25, and are estimated to last approximately 12 hours.

“These works that are going to be carried out are part of a necessary repair to improve the service and infrastructure that serves clients in various sectors of the municipalities of Mayagüez and Añasco. To carry out these tasks, it is necessary to interrupt the electricity supply during the aforementioned period, ”said Chaparro.

Among the sectors that will be affected are the Urb. Alturas de Mayagüez, Barrio Miradero, the Villas Centroamericanas, Highway 110 KM 0.0 to KM3.5 in and Barrio Caguabo in Añasco. The plants of the Miradero neighborhood and the Caiseas of the Aqueduct and Sewer Authority will also be affected, as well as the pumps on Highway 402 and the Caguabo de Añasco neighborhood.
