SAN JUAN – Several roads and streets are flooded due to the rain that falls in the morning of this Thursday, and that has affected in particular areas in Ocean Park and Santurce, in San Juan, confirmed the Police.

Among the flooded roads and streets is Rexach Avenue in Barrio Obrero, Bucaré Street, McLeary Street and marginal of Román Baldorioty de Castro Avenue, in the direction of Carolina to San Juan.

These floods affect several police barracks, including the Calle Loíza barracks and the Barrio Obrero barracks, in San Juan.

Police urged drivers to exercise caution and caution on flooded streets to avoid unfortunate incidents.

They urge not to cross flooded areas

The National Meteorological Service (SNM) in San Juan urged not to cross flooded roads, since the accumulation of water is generally greater than what is seen with the naked eye.

Drivers should look for alternate routes. A single foot of water can wash away a vehicle.

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles.

Flash Flood Warning

San Juan and Carolina are under a flash flood warning in effect at least until 11:30 a.m. this Wednesday, due to heavy rain and thunderstorms that can flood roads.

Up to an inch of rain has been reported in a few hours.

In addition to San Juan and Carolina, rain is recorded in Trujillo Alto and Guaynabo, according to the SNM.

The lands are saturated and the streams and rivers are above their usual level due to the downpours that have fallen in recent days.
