
Residents of Aguada, Hormigueros, Mayagüez and Rincón They can now apply for disaster assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) by the tropical storm Isaías.
Assistance includes grants for landlords and tenants and it is money that does not have to be repaidthe agency said yesterday in a press release. These grants can help pay for temporary housing or repair a main home.
FEMA mentioned that it does not provide grants for a second residence. However, you can apply for a low-interest disaster loan for small business development.
To ask for help, you can call 800-621-3362 or (TTY) 800-462-7585. The lines are open daily from 7:00 in the morning to 11:00 at night. You can also do it on the website disasterassistance.gov/es.
Sign language interpreters are available as services are requested.
