Rivera Guerra asks the Court to annul the PNP primary for the candidacy for mayor of Aguadilla

The former representative of José Luis Rivera Guerra, requests before the courts that the primary he lost against the mayor of Aguadilla, Yanitsia Irizarry for the candidacy for mayor of that municipality by the New Progressive Party (PNP).

In the appeal filed before the Court of First Instance, Rivera Guerra requests that the primary process in Aguadilla be declared void or that the certification or partial of the State Elections Commission (CEE) regarding the result of the primary for the candidacy for the mayor of Aguadilla by the PNP be annulled and that all electoral briefcases be opened and a count be carried out of votes manually.

Rivera Guerra also alleges that the primary process carried out on August 9 and continued on August 16 was "run over and contrary to the provisions of the Electoral Code and the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. "

The result of the primary for the candidacy for mayor of Aguadilla favored Mayor Yanitsia Irizarry who obtained a total of 3,430 votes compared to 3,315 of Rivera Guerra. A difference of 115 votes.
