Sale of school supplies starts without IVU


Today the sale of the School supplies without Sales and Use Tax (IVU), so the Department of Consumer Affairs (DACO) headed their routes to businesses to oversee the event.

The term started at 12:00 midnight today and will conclude at 11:59 pm tomorrow, Saturday.

“We urge consumers to find out about the items allowed according to the provision in Regulation Number 7711 of the Department of the Treasury. It is very important to keep the purchase receipt and be careful that it reflects the adjustment without SUT when buying any of the exempt products. Our inspectors will be visiting the businesses and we will have a staff in the Office offering guidance through the consultation line 787-722-7555 ”, informed the designated secretary of the DACO, Edan Rivera Rodríguez.

Among the school supplies exempt from the SUT are folders, erasers, calculators, chalk, adhesive tapes, crayons, markers, pens, pencil sharpeners, pencils, scissors and rulers. Also included are compasses, folders, glue, papers, pencil boxes, among others.

Consumers who identify irregularities in the shops can send confidences on the web pages daco.pr.gov or suri.hacienda.pr.gov, indicated the DACO.
