Scattered showers expected mostly in the morning


Puerto Rico – The sky was clear during the night hours in Puerto Rico. Some light downpours moved across the island from west of the airport in San Juan to Utuado, but it was mostly dry. Minimum temperatures were in the mid 60s inland and in the low 70s in the lower elevations. It was 73 degrees in San Juan. The wind was light and from the east with land breezes.

An area of ​​moderate moisture is moving through the southwestern waters of the Caribbean and into Puerto Rico and will increase showers today, both in the east in the morning and in the west in the afternoon. No heavy accumulations of rain are expected. Maximum temperatures will range from the high 80s in southwestern Puerto Rico to the low 70s in the mountains. The wind will be out of the east at 5 to 15 mph and will be strongest along the coasts with the sea breeze.

Sea conditions are relatively calm today. Boaters should expect swell of 6 feet or less, with east-northeast winds of 10 to 20 knots, which will be strongest in the offshore waters of the Caribbean and Pasaje de Anegada. There is a high risk of ocean currents for the beaches of the north of Puerto Rico to Loíza and east of Culebra. The risk remains moderate for the remaining beaches in the north and east of Puerto Rico, including Cabo Rojo, Vieques and Culebra.
