Secretary of Health confirms death by coronavirus of a 13-year-old girl

The secretary of the Department of Health, Lorenzo González confirmed today the death by coronavirus of a 13-year-old girl on the Island.

“We are aware of the death of a 13-year-old girl. The preliminary information received establishes that the doctor certified COVID-19 as the cause of death of the young woman . At this time, we are waiting to receive the Death Certificate at the offices of the Demographic Registry to confirm the information, "González said in written statements.

" Once the documentation is complete, we will issue the official information to all the media, "added the secretary.

Some 159 people have died in Puerto Rico from the disease to date, according to Health figures.

The agency has registered 2,235 confirmed infections (positive molecular test) and 6,627 probable cases (positive rapid test).
