Secretary of Health tests negative for Covid-19 molecular test | government


The Secretary of Health, Lorenzo González Feliciano, reported today that the molecular test that was performed after learning that he was in contact with a positive for Covid-19, gave a negative result.

"On the day of Today I had a molecular test to detect Covid-19, after being identified as a contact of a person who gave a positive result. Fortunately, my result was negative; however, I will remain in quarantine for the time recommended by the professionals of the Office of Epidemiology of the Department of Health, "said González Feliciano in written statements.

The secretary maintained the importance of maintaining quarantine despite having tested negative in the first test, since the incubation period of the virus is two to 14 days after the exhibition day

González Feliciano affirmed that he will continue working remotely. "Despite this situation, the work in the department has not been interrupted, given that we have capable and committed professionals who have continued their work, reiterating their commitment to the health of the people of Puerto Rico," added the Minister of Health .

"I take this opportunity to reiterate the prevention message. To control the infections caused by the pandemic, it is necessary to use masks at all times, physical distancing and disinfection of hands and surfaces. Covid-19 does not discriminates, so we must follow the rules, in order to flatten the curve and stop contagion. Puerto Rico needs everyone's responsibility, "he concluded.
