Serious a woman injured in a motorboat crash in Ponce

PONCE – A collision of a motorboat with a fixed object was reported on Sunday night, on Luis Muñoz Rivera Street, in front of the entrance to the Hill Crest Village Urbanization, in Ponce, the police confirmed.

According to the investigation, while Israel Madera Rosario, 31, a resident of Ponce, was driving a Yongfu motorboat, he allegedly did so at a speed that did not allow him to control and control the steering wheel and hit a concrete edge.

Omayra Santiago Zayas, 31, a resident of Juana Díaz and who was a passenger on the motorboat, was injured in the incident.

Santiago Zayas was transported to the Doctor Pila Hospital in Ponce, where she was treated by Dr. Santos, who diagnosed that the woman’s condition was serious and referred her to the Medical Center in Río Piedras.

Madera Rosario was tested for alcohol by blood.

As for the motor, the number of the tablet and its location are unknown, since at the time of the investigation it was not at the scene of the accident.

Prosecutor Ernesto Quesada investigates together with several agents of the Ponce Highway Patrol.
