
The strong earthquake registered on Thursday night caused several damages in different buildings in Ponce. The Mayor of the Stately City, María “Mayita” Meléndez, reported on the affected structures through social networks.
“With the most recent earthquake, different buildings have been affected in Ponce. The Martinó building on Torres street and on Villa street on Concordia corner. We are making the corresponding evaluations and reports, "wrote the mayor on her Twitter account, who also published two images.
Earlier, through the same social network, Governor Wanda Vázquez Garced indicated that she was in communication with the mayors of the southern zone.
According to the Puerto Rico Seismic Network, the magnitude of the tremor on Thursday at 11:27 pm it was 4.8. The epicenter of the movement occurred south-southeast of Guayanilla at latitude 17.96 and longitude 66.72.
