Some 388 health professionals receive a second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Barranquitas


Some 388 health professionals received today, Saturday, the second dose of the vaccine against COVID -19 in Barranquitas.

The New Progressive Mayor Elliot Colon Blanco announced that, after a meeting with the Secretary of the Interior, Noelia Garcia Berdales, a vaccination center will be established soon for the following phases within the plan of the Department of Health and the National Guard.

According to data from the country’s health agency, Barranquitas has reported a total of 650 confirmed cases of coronavirus.

“We are pleased that our healthcare professionals and first responders have received the second vaccine. This will allow us to move on to the other vaccination phases to achieve the greatest number of vaccinated townspeople that, while maintaining the other health measures, will allow infections to be controlled in our town and thus we will gradually return to normality “said the first municipal executive in written statements.

Colón Blanco also highlighted the collaboration of the entity Unidos por la Salud de Barranquitas; from the doctor Gloria Amador, executive director of the Integral Mountain Health Center (SIM); and the doctor Juan Negron, of the Interamerican University, Barranquitas campus.
