The Civil Society Statesman, which groups citizen organizations: Renacer Ideológico Estatatista, Equality, Future Insurance, We The People, Puerto Rico Equality Coalition, Puerto Rico Chosen Statehood, will celebrate tomorrow the 244th anniversary of the Independence of the United States starting at 6:00 pm in the Isla de Cabras National Park in Toa Baja.
The event will be in memory of Don Luis A. Ferré Aguayo, promoter of statehood for Puerto Rico and one of the founders of the New Progressive Party (PNP), as well as other recognized founding members of the movement, and will be attended by Tiody de Jesús, widow of former Governor Ferré.
The commemoration will end with a fireworks display in the bay.
Attendees of the event, which is open to the public, should wear their masks and keep physical distance as a preventive measure. The organizers will supply hand sanitizing products.
