The president of the Puerto Rico Teachers Association (AMPR), Elba Aponte Santos, announced on Wednesday that the incentive for teachers to cover internet expenses is already a fact.
“We are satisfied with this achievement because since March we have been claiming this incentive so that teachers can use it in their internet expenses,” Aponte Santos explained in written communication.
He expressed that teachers have continued to work despite how difficult it has been for them to teach at a distance with their personal tools.
“Teachers never stop working because they are professionals committed to education, although they do not have the necessary tools to carry out their work in the midst of this emergency,” said Professor Grichelle Toledo, general secretary of the Local Union.
“The teacher will have the opportunity to redeem it in the assigned company. This shows that once again the AMPR continues to fight to do justice to the teaching profession because our teachers work hard to continue providing an educational service in the face of this new challenge of distance learning ”, indicated Aponte Santos.
