1. OEG closes chat search. The Office of Government Ethics (OEG) reported on Friday that it closed last month the investigation into the Telegram chat that the resigning Governor Ricardo Rosselló had with members of his cabinet and private contractors. The entity stated that there was no cooperation from those involved, as well as from the Department of Justice. The chat investigation, which included 899 pages, began on July 15, 2019.

2. Warning to Lúgaro.

“@AlexandraLugaro I love you, but you can’t clone my commercial this way.” That was the message that Ramiro Agulla, from Rome: Political Marketing and Strategy Agency, wrote on his social networks, after it emerged that the candidate for governor for the Citizen Victory Movement, Alexandra Lúgaro, published her first search ad from school officials, but it turned out to be a copy of a production made by the Argentina-based agency.

3. Another strong earthquake in the south.

An earthquake of magnitude 4.05 was reported Saturday in southern Puerto Rico, according to the Puerto Rico Seismic Network. The earthquake occurred at 12:33 pm at 11.68 kilometers south of Guánica. Users on social networks indicated that it was felt in towns such as Lares, Las Marías, Mayagüez, Moca, Cabo Rojo, Utuado and Lajas.

4. Confirmed deaths from Hurricane Laura.

Fifteen deaths were reported after Hurricane Laura passed through the United States, while thousands of residents of Louisiana and Texas remain without electricity and water. According to data released by authorities this Saturday, the death toll has already reached 15, with 10 deceased in Louisiana and 5 in Texas. Half of the deaths have been attributed to carbon monoxide poisoning from using electric generators inside homes.

5. Chadwick Boseman dies.

Actor Chadwick Boseman, who played black icons Jackie Robinson and James Brown before finding fame as the Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, died Friday of cancer. He was 43 years old. Boseman passed away at his home in Los Angeles with his wife and family by his side, said his publicist Nicki Fioravante. Related information on page 19.
