Nicolás Gautier, electoral commissioner of the Popular Democratic Party (PPD), resigned from his post on Friday immediately. Gautier had been selected to the post by PPD president Carlos “Charlie” Delgado after the party’s primaries. Later on the announcement, Delgado confirmed the appointment of Gerardo “Toñito” Cruz to the position.
