The rains that the Isaías storm left as it passed through Puerto Rico, and that mainly affected the western part of the country, had their effect on the Cervecera de Puerto Rico production plant, located in the urban area of Mayagüez. [19659002] In a video that circulated on social networks, it was possible to see how the facilities of the manufacturer of the Medalla beer were flooded by water runoff caused by the rains.
The operations manager of Cervecera de Puerto Rico, Maribel Montes reported that no significant damages were reported in the company, as a result of the passage of the Isaías storm in the western region.
“Heavy rains such as those caused by this system present a challenge due to the proximity of the plant to the Yagüez River. However, it is something that we contemplate within our emergency management plans. Fortunately, despite the fact that there is accumulation of water in some areas of the plant, there is no damage to the vital infrastructure that affects the operation, nor the production process, "Montes said.
