The BSN “bubble” will be played at the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar

RIO GRANDE – Basketball Superior Nacional confirmed on Tuesday that the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Puerto Rico Golf & Beach Resort will host the resumption of its 2020 season, to be held in a “bubble” format from Tuesday, November 10.

The Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Puerto Rico Golf & Beach Resort sits on 500 acres along two miles of golden beach and adjacent to the Yunque Forest Reserve and the Mameyes River.

All games of the season will be held in the 48,000 square foot conference center located in front of the sea in which the Rio Mar Ballroom will be the main field of the event that will be broadcast in its entirety by WAPA Deportes and / or online (streaming ). It has also been confirmed that a practice field will be set up under a tent outside the luxurious resort. Participants and staff will arrive at the bubble in the first week of November.

The 10 teams will play 45 regular season games in a single section, with 8 teams advancing to the postseason. The quarterfinals will be played to the best of three games, while the semifinals and Final Series will be played to the best of five. The detailed schedule will be communicated shortly.

The event will have a rigorous Health Protocol to prevent and mitigate risks related to COVID-19 that the BSN works in conjunction with the Medical Group that currently collaborates with the National Superior Basketball, composed of Luis Molinary, MD (Cardiologist), Fabiola Cruz López, MPH, PhD (Epidemiologist), William Felix, MD, CAQSM, Kenira Thompson, PhD, Miguel Magraner, MD (Internist), Fernando Sepúlveda, MD (Physiatrist), and Manuel Polanco, MD (Internist). This Protocol will begin prior to the entry to the bubble of all the personnel and includes molecular tests that will be carried out weekly to the participants.

The BSN will also work on a Security Protocol under the advice of the former Federal Police Monitor and former Colonel of the United States Army, Arnaldo Claudio. Both protocols will be communicated in detail shortly.
