The delivery of briefcases with ballots starts with delays in Guaynabo

The delay in the arrival of the judges who authorized the opening of the trucks caused dozens of school officials to wait from 5:00 am in front of the gates of the Guaynabo Police barracks, waiting for the delivery of the briefcases containing the voting ballots, explained Kermin Figueroa, an official of the Popular Democratic Party.

It was at 6:20 am that the first of two trucks was opened by several electoral commissioners from the municipality.

Despite the wait, some school officials said they were in time to prepare the polling stations and receive the voters of Guaynabo at 9:00 a.m.

José Luis Jiménez, representative of the Citizen Victory Movement, explained that “we are supposed to start at 6:00 am”.

But, the first briefcase was delivered at 6:32 am in a kind of trolley.

“We are on time, because work was advanced yesterday. Everything was taken out of the trucks and they organized, ”explained Jiménez.

José Tormos, an official of the New Progressive Party, also pointed out that they were on time, “because the instructions (indicated) that the delivery was from 6:00 am to 6:30 am.”
