The fourth edition of the Caguas Mini Maker Fair returns

On this occasion, it will be held virtually and a forum will be presented with the participation of experts in the industry, including the organizer of the event in Viña del Mar, Chile.

CAGUASUnder the theme Entrepreneurial Makers, the Centro Criollo de Ciencia y Tecnología del Caribe (C3Tec), announced today the fourth edition of the Caguas Mini Maker Fair. This year, due to the COVID-19 situation, it will be held virtually on December 4 and 5.

Since 2006, the culture maker holds events around the world, where makers They exhibit their works or projects, in addition to teaching through mini-workshops how to replicate their products. C3Tec is the only organization in Puerto Rico, officially licensed to produce a Mini Maker Faire.

“We are very pleased to be able to hold the event this year Makers. Despite all the challenges we had, we managed to build a program that will present to the public the creative capacity of these creators and encourage the exchange of creative and innovation processes. We chose this year the theme Entrepreneurial Makers because despite adversity, this group of creators managed to overcome all limitations and continue their artistic ventures and projects, stimulating the economy and success for our country, “said Tasha Endara, executive director of C3Tec.

The culture of doers or “makers” in Puerto Rico is based on vision, creativity, effort, dedication, solidarity and perseverance. This movement stands out for the inclusion of tastes, preferences, ages, professions and occupations. So the topics to be taught and practiced range from electronics, robotics, 3-D printing, and the use of computerized designs, without forgetting traditional activities such as metallurgy, woodworking, cabinetmaking and crafts. This merger promotes the implementation of new and unique technologies encouraging invention as well as prototyping. This event will present technological, creative and innovative demonstrations in order to promote the interest and emergence of ideas directed to the movement makers.

On December 4, a forum will be presented with the purpose of providing useful tools to all Makers, to make your products stand out. Topics on intellectual property, advertising, marketing, among others will be discussed. This group made up of experts and recognized industry professionals will share their experiences and expertise in each area for the progress of those projects that many may have in mind and do not dare. Among the Forum participants, we will have the collaboration of Peter Roberts, in charge of Maker Weekend Viña 2020. The Makers Academy and the launch of the Puerto Rico EXPO Emprende: Covid-19 Youth Hackathon will also begin to be presented.

On December 5 the presentation of the Makers.
