The government meets to address the situation of the rise of COVID-19

Several government officials are meeting virtually this morning to address the situation of the pandemic of the COVID-19 and the rebound in cases that has been registered in recent days throughout Puerto Rico, according to Primera Hora.

It is expected that from that meeting some recommendations and measures will emerge that could even lead to the modification of the executive order that imposes various restrictions and penalties in order to control the spread of the dangerous virus.

Although the vaccination process against the dangerous virus has advanced on the island, at the moment there is an increase in cases of the virus that keeps almost all of Puerto Rico under a high level of risk.

The situation led several medical experts to ask yesterday that the curfew be extended to begin at 7:00 pm (currently it runs from 9:00 pm to 5:00 am) and a partial closure be imposed on businesses such as cinemas , gyms, casinos, churches and restaurants with poor ventilation

Today, several mayors joined those calls on the government to impose more restrictions to seek to stop the rebound in COVID-19 cases.
