The tropical wave east of the Antilles in the center of the Atlantic Ocean could turn into a storm this afternoon, according to the National Hurricane Center (CNH) in Miami.
At 11:00 am the CNH launched a special newsletter on the tropics’ prospects to increase the chance of development of this system from 60 percent it had this morning to 80 percent.
“Satellite imagery and recent wind data indicate that the system low pressure midway between the west coast of Africa and the Lesser Antilles continues to improve in organization. If current trends continue, warnings could be started in this system as a tropical depression later today. Regardless of development over the next few days, fewer favorable conditions should limit further development over the weekend, “says CNH.
