SAN JUAN – The Secretary of the Treasury Department, Francisco Parés Alicea, confirmed this morning in a radio interview that the agency he directs made the first deposits of $ 600 as part of federal aid to try to alleviate a little the economic effects caused by the pandemic of the COVID-19.
“The distribution process (of the 600 dollars) has already begun. It is going to be quite an aggressive one, in the sense that we have to end this program in 30 days, “said Parés Alicea in an interview on Pegaos en la Mañana on Radio Isla with Julio Rivera Saniel.
According to Parés Alicea, some 200,000 taxpayers received 600 dollars in their bank accounts, for about 190 million dollars
The Treasury works with the Economic Impact Payments of $ 600 approved under the federal law known as the COVID-related Tax Reliefe Act of 2020, the agency reported on its Twitter account.
