The spokesperson for the College of Practical Nursing of Puerto Rico, Julio Irson, confirmed today the death of nurse Christine Reyes Lorenzana, 42, due to Covid-19.
Reyes Lorenzana became the twelfth nurse to die from the novel virus on the Island.
She worked at the Dr. Susoni Metropolitan Hospital, in Arecibo and had been hospitalized for about two weeks.
“Family members had notified us that she was critically ill. It was entering its third critical week, “explained Irson in an interview with THE SPOKESMAN.
Meanwhile, Irson called on all health professionals to get vaccinated “to get the herd immunity that is needed … The reality is that vaccines give health”.
Health reported today 982 confirmed cases, 588 suspected cases, 143 probable infections and 10 additional deaths.
With this, the accumulated figure rises to 120,703 cases and 1,391 deaths, between confirmed and probable, since the pandemic began.
