There are 534 hospitalized by Covid-19 | government


The number of hospitalized for Covid-19 on the island reflected a slight reduction in the past 24 hours, from 537 to 534, according to the Health Department website.

Of the total hospitalizations, 90 are in intensive care and 88 are connected to a ventilator. There are no pediatric patients hospitalized for the virus.

The country’s health system currently has 3,194 beds for adults, 218 intensive care beds and 794 ventilators. It also has 960 pediatric beds, 65 intensive care beds and 139 pediatric ventilators.

On the other hand, the total of convalescents from the virus amounts to 59,690. Salud defines a convalescent as a “person who is recovering from an illness”.

The Health Department reported today 15 additional deaths from Covid-19, mostly victims over 60 years old. These deaths occurred between December 3 and 22, according to the agency report.
