The Health Department report reported two probable deaths from Covid-19; meanwhile, one confirmed case and 40 additional probable cases were recorded.
The added probable deaths correspond to a 74-year-old man from the Bayamón region and a 90-year-old man from the Caguas region. With these additional fatalities, the total number of probable deaths is 94 and the confirmed deaths remain at 57, so the total number of deaths is 151. It is important to remember that any death recorded after the report is issued will be reflected in subsequent reports.
At the time of issuing the report, a confirmed case of Covid-19 was recorded; however, the total was adjusted to 1,579, by including an additional case, whose sampling date was April 22. The results of confirmed cases correspond to 781 women and 798 men. Confirmed cases are those with a positive PCR test.
Furthermore, an additional 40 probable cases were recorded. In this line, the total is 5,298, after adding 15 cases with a sample date of April 8 to May 22. Of the probable cases, 2,800 are women and 2,498 are men. Probable cases are those that test positive for a serological test.
Adjustments in totals are made as part of an effort by the Department of Health, entities, and clinical laboratories to ensure that all samples made for Covid-19 are recorded in the Bio Portal, regardless of the date it was taken.
