Canovanas – A man suspected of committing several robberies in Canóvanas and Carolina, among other towns, was arrested for assaulting a 77-year-old woman on December 15, police revealed.
The detained person was identified as Erick Manuel Rivera Rivera, 37, who has a criminal record for robbery, attempted murder, illegal possession of weapons, and spousal violence, among others.
Rivera Rivera is charged with the fact that last Tuesday, December 15, in the parking lot of a bank in Canóvanas, he assaulted a 77-year-old woman, whom he stripped of her wallet with money, personal documents, clothes and a cell phone.
Rivera Rivera was arrested for the crimes of theft, controlled substances and the Weapons Law. He is a neighbor of Juncos and is unemployed.
The evidence against Rivera Rivera was consulted with the prosecutor Lorien Pietri Colón, who ordered the filing of the charges.
Judge Ediltrudis Betancourt determined a case against Rivera Rivera and imposed a bond of $ 110,000, which he could not pay, for which he was admitted to jail.
