They charge a man for a murder

CAGUAS – Juan Martínez Ríos was accused of murder and violation of the Weapons Law, for an incident in Caguas on August 22, 2020, in which he killed a person with a knife, the Police reported.

According to the police investigation, Martínez Ríos used a knife and inflicted multiple wounds in the neck area on Oban O. López Santiago, 40, a resident of Caguas, which caused his death.

Martínez Ríos is 35 years old and resides in Caguas.

This case was consulted with the prosecutor Zulmarie Alverio Ramos, who ordered the filing of criminal charges for the aforementioned crimes.

Then, the evidence was presented before Judge Ricardo Marrero Guerrero of the Caguas court, who determined cause for arrest, imposing a bond of 180,000 dollars, which Martínez Ríos provided, and he was released until the preliminary hearing, scheduled for February 12. 2021.

An indictment is only an indictment and is not evidence of guilt. The accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
