JUNCOS – A man was killed and another wounded in a shooting on Saturday night, at kilometer 0 of the PR-198 highway in Juncos, police reported.
The authorities were alerted to the incident through a call to the 9-1-1 Emergency System, notifying people of gunshot wounds at kilometer 0 of the PR-198 highway.
Two men identified as Rey Ortiz Maldonado, 24, and Ángel Acosta García, 27, residents of Juncos, were participating in a parade through the place when someone shot them, both resulting in multiple gunshot wounds.
Ortiz Maldonado was transported to the Juncos Diagnosis and Treatment Center where the doctor on duty certified his death, while
Acosta García was transferred to a hospital in the San Juan area in stable condition.
Agents assigned to the Homicide Division of the Caguas Area Criminal Investigation Corps, together with prosecutor Javier Rivera and personnel from the Institute of Forensic Sciences, took charge of the investigation.
