SAINT ELIZABETH – A woman was killed in an incident of gender violence, around 8:10 on Wednesday night, in an apartment located on the premises of a restaurant in Santa Isabel, the Police reported.
The woman was identified by the Police as Marilyn Reyes Ayala, 46, who worked in the Guayama Correctional Complex as a Socio-Criminal Technician (Social Worker).
The authorities were alerted to the incident by an anonymous call to the Santa Isabel District barracks, where they reported detonations in an apartment.
Upon arriving at the scene, they found the woman in front of the apartment with several gunshot wounds. Emergency Medical Paramedics diagnosed the absence of vital signs.
The assailant left the scene of the murder in a gray motor vehicle.
Agent José García and Sergeant Miguel Torres, from the Homicide Division, together with prosecutor Caroline Arcelay, took charge of the investigation. The scene was worked on by Forensic Sciences personnel.
