For the third consecutive year, Chocolate Cortés and Susan G. Komen embrace their alliance in the fight against breast cancer: the most diagnosed among Puerto Rican women.
For this reason, Chocolate Cortés presents its new special edition of the Cortés bar, with the SGK organization’s pink ribbon.
As a complement, this year the company incorporates a mug designed by the Puerto Rican artist Lex Tirado, with two of his meninas: Cocoa and RosAlma.
Tirado’s meninas have a special meaning, because in them he portrays various women with a message of life, and the transformation of pain into beauty.
This exquisite commemorative mug will be available for purchase on the chocolatecortes.com/sgk website, at the Chocolate Cortés headquarters in Hato Rey and at the Casa Cortés Choco Bar, located in Old San Juan.
In the Chocobar Cortés, you can also buy the special edition of the SGK Chocobar Pastry Box, which contains pastries filled with chocolate and a special pink piece.
A portion of the sales from the specialty bar and Choco-Pastry Bundle, and all net proceeds from the sale of the commemorative mug will be donated to SGK PR.
“We appreciate the commitment of Chocolate Cortés as a local company committed for three consecutive years to the health of women in Puerto Rico. Especially at these times, where high-risk populations are in need of the support and access of Komen Puerto Rico to continue their breast cancer treatments, ”said Amarilis Reyes, executive director of Susan G. Komen Puerto Rico.
For his part, Ignacio Javier Cortés, commercial vice president of the allied company, stressed that “our purpose is to create awareness about breast cancer in each household that Chocolate Cortés is consumed.”
Since its inception in 2003, Susan G. Komen Puerto Rico is the leading organization in breast cancer awareness on the island. Through its Grants Program, it finances projects focused on the continuous care of breast health and breast cancer, including screening tests (mammograms) and diagnoses (sonomamograms, pet-scans, biopsies and MRIs).
It has also provided financial assistance in the active treatment of breast cancer -which includes chemotherapies, radiotherapies, medications and transportation for patients- as well as support to patients, survivors and their families.
Chocolate Cortés is a Puerto Rican company that has been dedicated to the production of chocolate products for 90 years and is committed to the well-being of all.
