They run over a man in Arecibo

ARECIBO – A man who had an arrest warrant for an alleged incident of domestic violence was run over by a person who fled, at about 1:10 am on Saturday, on the PR-681 road in the Islote neighborhood in Arecibo.

According to the authorities’ report, Rafael Martínez Santiago, a 30-year-old resident of Arecibo, was walking along the taxiway when he was hit by a vehicle that did not stop at the scene of the accident.

Martínez Santiago, was transported to the Pavía de Arecibo hospital in serious condition and referred to the Río Piedras Medical Center.

The subject has an arrest warrant under Law 54 of domestic violence with a bail of 80 thousand dollars, issued by Judge Angela Díaz Escalera.

Agent José González from the Arecibo Highway Patrol, Agent Edwin Calderón from the Homicide division, and prosecutor Iliana Richard Mora were in charge of the investigation.
