A structure of the Department of Housing that was in disrepair for more than 10 years will now be the home of several Moroveños, announced today the mayor Carmen Maldonado González.
In the building, which locates In the Juan Otero Claveroll sector of the Cuchillas neighborhood, 10 apartments were created under the Florece Project.
“Today we are seeing how with a limited municipal investment of about $ 25,000 we managed to work in the cleaning, painting, cabinets and minor repairs of this structure . Again, the municipalities show that we do much more with much less, "said the mayor in written statements.
It was indicated that through the Citizen Aid Office, the municipality qualified the cases of people requesting these homes, the majority elderly.
As part of the agreement with Housing, the municipality has the usufruct of the complex for $ 1, renewable annually. The tenants will enjoy the apartments with negative income, being responsible for the maintenance of the area, the payment of water and electricity, as well as various security and use provisions, under a contract signed by both parties .
Each unit has a living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom for people with mobility problems and a room with storage and laundry area.
Among the beneficiaries are families who lost their homes after Hurricanes Irma and María.
