They urge health professionals to seek psychological support | Present

The SEPI Group will carry out a Facebook Live together with Dr. Alberto León, deputy director of Doctors’ Hospital, in Bayamón, given the concern caused by the increase in infections among health professionals, which this year has already registered 10 deaths of doctors due to Covid-19 on the island.

The event “Emotional well-being in mental health professionals in the face of the increase in Covid-19 cases” seeks to guide health professionals on the resources that are available to address any concern related to the psychological management of the crisis caused by the pandemic.

“We want to help health professionals in Puerto Rico, offering them the mechanisms to manage the emotional crises that the pandemic has brought with it. That is why we decided to join Dr. León on a Facebook Live this coming Tuesday, November 24, to guide people in this industry about the existing aid alternatives, “said Amarilis Ramos Rivera, president of SEPI.

The Group brings together psychology services to people of all ages and backgrounds in Puerto Rico. With the Covid-19 outbreak, it established a telephone line aimed at providing support services to health professionals, in times of crisis.

The line is open seven days a week and will offer service until the pandemic is over.

The Live will take place through the SEPI Group Facebook account at 6:00 PM. Likewise, health professionals interested in receiving emotional support should call 787-454-1257 to channel their intervention immediately.
