
VEGA ALTA – Agents attached to the Criminal Investigation Corps (CIC) of the Police are investigating a fraud complaint reported at around 4:02 pm on Friday, where unknown persons fraudulently used the “Raymond and his friends” program to steal money.
According to the complainant, Jorge Pina, a resident of Vega Alta, received a text message in which he was told that he had won a vehicle through the aforementioned television program and that he only had to pay $ 480 for license plate and tag expenses.
After receiving the message on his cell phone, the injured party went to a bank branch in Vega Alta where he allegedly deposited the money into an account.
The incident was preliminarily investigated by agents from the Vega Alta District and referred to personnel from the CIC Fraud Division for further investigation.
