They will deliver lunches to university students in Villalba

VILLALBA – Feeding smiles and giving encouragement to the effort that university students make daily with their online courses, the member of Jóvenes En Acción with VillaCoop, Miguel Ángel Santiago, will deliver lunches in Villalba.

It is “Serving friends”, a community project that responds to one of the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations: Zero Hunger.

The service will be carried out at the premises of the VillaCoop Cooperative this coming Friday, October 30, 2020 at 12:00 noon.

According to the United Nations portal, it is estimated that about 690 million people in the world suffer from hunger, that is, 8.9% of the world’s population, which represents an increase of about 10 million people in one year and of about 60 million in five years.

A lunch for 100 people will be delivered. You can make your food donation at VillaCoop this coming Thursday, October 29 at 5:00 in the afternoon.

Donations include 10 packages of noodles (16 oz), 4 plates of chicken thighs, 8 pots of spaghetti sauce and muffins. Disposable plates, silverware, and water are also needed.

This humanitarian effort will have the collaboration of the Come IUPI student association of the UPR Río Piedras. The Association of Student Communicators of the South (ECOS) of Inter Ponce will participate remotely educating about this sustainable development.
