Justice and n Little Bighorn

The column of the invading US Army AA under the command of US General George A. Custer is annihilated at Little Bighorn by Chiefs Mad Horse and Sitting Bull.

The Battle of Little Bighorn was an armed confrontation between the combined forces of the Lakota, Cheyenne, and Arapajo against the 7th Cavalry Regiment of the United States Army. The battle took place on June 25 and 26, 1876, near the Little Bighorn River, in the territory of Montana, and was the most outstanding action of the Black Hills War of 1876.

The confrontation resulted in a victory overwhelming of the original peoples coalition which was led by several prominent tribal chiefs like Crazy Horse and Chief Gall, inspired by the visions of Sitting Bull. Five of the twelve companies that made up the regiment were annihilated, Custer fell dead, as well as two of his brothers, a nephew and a brother-in-law. US casualties were 268 killed and 55 wounded, including six explorers from native peoples in the service of the invading army .

Salvador Allende is born

The doctor and politician Salvador Allende Gossens was a leader of the Chilean Student Federation. Later founder of the Socialist Party of Chile in which he was elected Secretary General. He also held other important positions, such as the Minister of Health, deputy, senator and president of the Chilean Senate.

The Popular Unity, a political coalition made up of communists, socialists, radicals, MAPU, PADENA and Independent Popular Action, is proclaimed by its candidate on January 22, 1970, and triumphed on September 4 in the elections of that year. In this way, he became the first Marxist president in the world to access the government through elections. He assumed the presidency on November 3, 1970.

During the time in power of the Popular Unity government s and began an agrarian reform and nationalized mining, banking and large industrial monopolies. This caused the rejection of the Chilean oligarchy linked to the policy of the then President of the United States, Richard Nixon, who demanded his overthrow . On September 11, 1973, the Armed Forces commanded by General Augusto Pinochet and the Carabineros Corps carried out a coup. Allende falls fighting in the Palacio de la Moneda.
