Thousands of children will receive another payment to the PAN card

More than 79,889 thousand minors between the ages of 0 to 6 years of limited resources, participants of the PAN program will be supported in their diet starting today, Monday, June 14, through the Child Care Pandemic EBT (CCP-EBT), through an allocation of $ 85 million from the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021.

The secretary of the Department of the Family (DF), Dr. Carmen Ana González Magaz, and the administrator of the Administration of Socioeconomic Development of the Family (ADSEF), Alberto Fradera Vázquez, made the announcement at a press conference after obtaining approval of the plan disbursement and transfer of federal resources.

This allocation of funds from the CCP-EBT covers the period from October 2020 to May 2021 and grants a total to each minor $ 1,139.66 divided into two payments of $ 569.83 to minor participants of the PAN.

Disbursements are scheduled for June and July.

“The food sustenance of minors during the emergency caused by COVID-19 is one of the highest priorities of this administration. Governor Pedro Pierluisi has been emphatic that no minor should be without the necessary food support. Each eligible family will receive two payments of $ 569.86 per child in a period of two months, which represents a significant financial relief at this time for many parents, ”said the Secretary of the Family.

The head of the Department of the Family highlighted the importance of this support to families that is part of the food support plan approved by Congress and that adds up to $ 541 million disbursed to date. “It is an unprecedented assignment aimed at the nutrition and health of minors on the island. A large part of these children live in disadvantaged socioeconomic conditions, which the pandemic certainly exacerbated. These resources allow them to concentrate on other aspects of their development and well-being with the certainty that they have food on their table ”.

For his part, Fradera Vázquez stated that, “ADSEF has disbursed over $ 456 million from the Pandemic-EBT supporting food sustenance to 336,449 school-age children, to which today there are around 79 thousand children under six years of age from families with limited resources. Each allowance for food support goes directly to families through their Family Card to help them maintain a healthy diet and good health ”.

The administrator pointed out that, “it is important that participants remember that each monthly disbursement can be used for up to a period of six months, so they do not have to make use of the total assistance in a single month, this allows them to use the funds at your best convenience and according to your need. Families can see the status of their account and transactions by accessing www.ebtpr.com”.

The disbursements scheduled for the month of June and July will be received according to the last digit of the Social Security number of the person in charge of the Family Card account, with the exception of the digits from 0 to 3 that are issued today, Monday, June 14 and digits 4 and 5 that are issued tomorrow, Tuesday, June 15. The benefit corresponds to children under 6 years of age who have not already been supported by the P-EBT.

The resources of the Pandemic EBT can be used for the purchase of unprepared food in the more than three thousand certified shops of the PAN and in the Family Markets.
