Three days of mourning are decreed on the Island for the death of John Lewis | government

Secretary of State, Elmer Román González, reported today that Governor Wanda Vázquez Garced decreed three days of mourning for the death of Congressman John Lewis.

" We join the presidential mourning decree for the death of Congressman John Lewis, a strong defender of civil rights, equality and freedom, being one of the collaborators of Martin Luther King, Jr. Let's honor his memory we must continue the fight for equality regardless of race, creed, social status or geographic location, "said the secretary on behalf of the governor.

The flags of the United States and Puerto Rico on public buildings will fly at half-staff from tomorrow, Monday, July 20 to Wednesday, July 22, 2020.
