Three new deaths and 235 additional coronavirus infections


The report of the Department of Health reported three deaths from COVID-19; while 235 confirmed cases and 172 additional probable cases were registered .

On the other hand, the virtual Health tool, the "dashboard", indicates that there are 442 people hospitalized, an increase of 27 when compared to 415 reported yesterday. It is the largest number of hospitalized people registered on the island by COVID-19

The fatalities reported today were cataloged as confirmed. The same correspond a 58-year-old woman from the Bayamón region and two men, 56 and 77 years from the Caguas and Metro regions, respectively.

With the additional fatalities, the total number of confirmed deaths they are 87 and the probable ones remain at 101, so that the total of deaths is 188 . It is important to remember that any death recorded after the report is issued will be reflected in subsequent reports.

On the other hand, the total results of confirmed cases of COVID-19 is 4,574 which it was adjusted by adding nine cases; one with a sample collection date of June 23 and eight with a sample collection date of July 2. Of this total, 2,305 are women and 2,269 men. The reported cases are those that have a positive PCR test, with a sample collection date of July 3 to 20.

On the other hand, 172 additional probable cases were registered, with a sample collection date from 13 to July 20, 2020. In this line, the total is 8,899, after being adjusted, by subtracting 15 cases that had a positive molecular test, later, and were added to the cases registered as part of this report. Similarly, 34 cases were added with a sample collection date from June 18 to July 2. Probable cases are divided into 4,849 women and 4,050 men.
