Tropical storm warning issued for Puerto Rico


A tropical storm warning was issued by the National Hurricane Center (CNH) in the bulletin at 11:00 am today, Friday.

According to the CNH, the center of storm Laura was located at latitude 17.0 degrees north longitude 60.2 degrees west

The system is moving west at 18 miles per hour from west to northwest. She is expected to increase her speed of movement in the next few days.

Laura has sustained winds of 45 miles per hour (mph).

Laura must pass near the Leeward Islands late at night, near or to the north from the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico on Saturday and near or north of Hispaniola on Saturday night.

At the moment, Laura is expected to drop 3 to 6 inches of rain in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands during the Sunday.
