The independent senator José Vargas Vidot said today, Sunday, that the declaration of a state of emergency for gender violence should be recognized as a “victory”.

“However, we must not deceive ourselves, this victory belongs to the women who have been demanding for many years for the state to assume its responsibility,” he said in written statements on his social networks.

He also commented that it will be pending to carry out what the Executive Order indicates.

“Specific and specific actions are needed,” he added.

The Executive Order that declares a state of emergency for gender violence was released today, and will be in effect until June 30, 2022.
