San Juan – The Veterans Administration (AV) Health System announced this Tuesday that it will vaccinate against Covid-19 those veterans who receive care from that agency and who are 65 years of age or older, by appointment and free of charge.

This Tuesday the AV Health System in the Caribbean will vaccinate in the outpatient clinics of Ponce and Mayagüez, between 8:00 in the morning and 1:30 in the afternoon.

On the other hand, the Veterans Hospital in San Juan will be vaccinated against Covid-19 from Wednesday 20 until Friday 22 January. People who want to be vaccinated have to make an appointment. The immunization process against Covid-19 will be from 10:00 in the morning to 3:00 in the afternoon.

Veterans who get vaccinated must be available for their second dose 28 days after the first. It is recommended that you arrive at least 30 minutes before your appointment.

Patients interested in receiving the vaccine at a later date should contact their healthcare provider or call 787-641-4591 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

As an additional supply of vaccines is received, the VA will notify additional groups of veterans to get vaccinated.

People who get vaccinated should follow the protocol of washing their hands and maintaining adequate physical distance.
